Feeling Glamorous

I like to keep things simple these days.

Even when it comes to dressing up, and doing my make-up.

At my age, less is more.

Last week, for the wedding reception, my sister-in-law kindly offered to do my hair.

As you know, women like to wear black, wear more sparkle or bling in the evening. I was wearing my black cocktail dress but kept my hair down. Wasn't that enough?

I was content with the way I looked.

My parents thought it was a wonderful idea to get my hair done. My sister-in-law said it wouldn't take long to do.

Really? I agreed.

With a few bobby pins and hair spray, she put up my hair in pin curls.

And besides, we had an hour or so to kill before we headed downtown.

On our way to the reception, J.P blurted out, "Mommy, your hair looks weird."

"Oh, thanks, J.P"

Mr. O glanced at me, smiled and told me the boys are not used to me all dressed up.

So much for feeling glamorous. Sigh.

Even for a day.

  1. Hello!
New follower from one of the friday blog hops!!! Hope you have a wonderful friday!

PS i also host a weekly blog hop... feel free to check it out!

  2. I really like you blog and I feel the same way that you do that "at my age less is more". I have found the easiest way to look great is do my hair and my make up and slip into one of my favorite cocktail dresses. They are so cute and look great.

  3. Thanks for visiting, hope you will come back again! :)

  4. I bet you looked beautiful. I got my hair chopped once when my oldest was a toddler. I swear he didn't recognize me. It was traumatic!

    Lots of yummy love,

  5. JP is funny! Maybe this means that you should get your hair done more often! But, I really understand you, my youngest gives me weird looks when I take my glasses off..oh well.
